EKG tasked with data collection for building simulation models

EKG recently completed a month-long task of collecting data required to populate building simulation models. The project was the start of the evaluation and assessment of a performance contract for a military base. So that the ESCO can properly predict savings, the building's had to be surveyed to confirm building data ranging from building metrics, structural components, operations, HVAC systems and equipment and data measurements (supply/return/indoor air temperatures, relative humidity, footcandles, etc.)

EKG Provides Short-Term Data Solution for Trane Project

EKG was recently selected to provide a short-term data acquisition solution for their energy efficiency project. EKG will provide the data acquisition equipment and project management to meter thirteen health club facilities located in the North Texas area. Mr, Craig Howe, Trane Project Manager, stated, "EKG demonstrated their data system to me at one of the facilities and I was sold on the fact of how easy the system could be installed and the incredible amount of information about each facility's electric consumption we'll receive." Trane will use the data system to understand how well each facility's building operates.

Donnie Herrin is Executive Director of the 2006, 2007 and 2008 Symposium on Improving Building Systems in Hot and Humid Climates

Donnie Herrin, President of Energy Knowledge Group, accepted an invitation to become the Executive Director of the 2006 Symposium on Improving Building Systems in Hot and Humid Climates. In the past, Texas A&M's Energy System Laboratory (http://tmpwebesl.tamu.edu/) has been the primary host of the Symposium. Dr. Dan Turner, director of ESL, and his Executive Committee decided to co-host the 2006 Symposium with Florida Solar Energy Center (http://www.fsec.ucf.edu/) and have the event in Orlando, Fl in during July 2006. Donnie was the Executive Director of the 2005 Symposium and has been involved as an Advisory Committee member since 1986.

Donnie was also the Executive Director for Symposium on Improving Building Systems in Hot and Humid Climates component of the CATEE (Clean Air Through Energy Efficiency) conference in San Antonio, Texas, December 17-18, 2007.

Again, Donnie is the Executive Director for the Symposium to be held December 15-17, 2008 in Plano, Texas. The Symposium is now co-hosted by Texas A&M Energy Systems Laboratory, the Florida Solar Energy Center and The Southface Energy Institute.
